Article 15: Restriction, Meta, Ruling
Well, This article will be over the new restriction, new meta construction, and ruling.
First, I'll start off with the new 9/1 restriction.
As most of you already know, there will be new ban/restriction for 9/1, and many change have been make...
First, to start off, people should read the list...
http://www.yugioh-card.com/japan/tou/seigen_f.html
I'm not going in depth of the decision, but instead, I'll go into how people think of themselves almost as stupid for calling me someone who fake the whole list.
Hack...before KoJ release the ban today, many many people have said "This is false", "This is just a rumor", "Wait for it's confirm". Hack, I see no point of saying all that, especially after I repeat and repeat that how accurate myself is.
And, I'm right, I'M COMPLETELY RIGHT. Those people need to stop the whining now, b/c, here goes the analyzation of the new list:
To start off, look at the unbanned card.
Lily, Cyber Pod, Fiber Pod, CoH, and Painful Choice all get off the list. Those card, except Painful Choice, are really expected. I foresee that they'll unban Lily and Cyber Pod, unbanning Fiber Pod isn't that bad, Change of Heart I don't care, but...Painful Choice, they want deck to dominate again.
Nah...that's why there will be a crazy ban.
Witch, Critter got ban in place of Painful, in which Witch and Critter are a much better deck thinner compare to Painful.
Black Hole for Cyber Pod, really, both are mass destruction anyway, Cyber Pod seems not that broken
CED went in as expected, and Cyber and Fiber got unban b/c of that. Massive field detsruction almost extinct after the new ban.
Raise Dead / Angel's Gift, just an staples ban, nothing more.
Then, Holy Barrier and Power of Teamwork are restrict for different reason compare to other cards, and reason? The heart of this restriction.
Now, what's exactly the heart of this restriction??
(Drumroll)
Cyclone, that is.
Cyclone got restrict, YES, the cards that 99% of the deck use 3 is NOW restrict to 1, means, what happen??
Yes, M/T destruction become less of a factor, 2x Dust Torando as replacement won't seems as good as 2x Cyclone, as Cyclone clearly dominate for Mirage combo, and being a Quickplay Magic.
Then, Tidal got restrict b/c of Cyclone and Black Hole, so, I didn't expect it, even though I know myself how crazy Tidal is
Protector of Shrine...no idea why it's on...
Metamol Pot, KoJ decide too much abuse, restrict back to 1
DDVD, an unexpected restriction, this make beatdown better? NO, Beatdown are w/o Critter and Witch (as are any other deck), so...
Sixth Sense, who don't want this card restrict / ban anyway??
Now, times for meta talk...
With the new 9/1 restriction, many (and I can say, MANY) people said Burner and Stall deck will be dominating the whole YGO scene, are they right? Not necessary, since there are still other deck type out there.
- Stall / Burn (obviously...)
- Theme deck (Now, things like Earth deck don't fear DDVD anymore...they're free to rush)
- Chaos Warrior (No CED doesn't mean no one use Chaos...)
- Other deck, such as OTK...
And now the ruling part, and I'll bring forward the infamous "optional", so you can't do this ruling.
WHY? This actually happen to a very new card, Dark Clown Peten.
A ruling has recently release, as following:
Q: Can [Peten] use his effect after sacrificing by ways such as [DDVD]
A: No, since [Peten] effect is optional.
Here we go, and this actually trace way back to Gilfar Demon.
People should remember the infamous Gilfar Demon + Woodland Sprite ruling, and how anything in between an effect would stop an optional effect having a chance to activiate.
This, then, goes toward ruling of [Black Magician of Chaos] + [Dimensional Magic], which state only 1 of the effect can be activate, and [Leaping Grasshopper] ruling, which said you can't activate his effect if [Grasshopper] is sacrificed.
Same goes for [Peten], so, for people who try to abuse him, think again, KoJ ruin your day again.
